Hull University Students’ Union (HUSU) is looking for a dedicated and self-motivated Nightclub Cleaner to join our team at Asylum, our vibrant and high-energy nightclub. This is a vital role where you'll help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students and the public to enjoy events at Asylum.

Hull University Students’ Union is a Charity, with a large Commercial subsidiary; our primary purposes are:

  • Advancement of education, promoting the interests and welfare of students during study and representing, supporting and advising students.
  • Being the recognised representative channel between students and the University of Hull and other representative bodies.
  • Providing social, cultural sporting, recreational activities, and forums for discussions and debate for the personal development of its students.

Our Commercial Subsidiary provides a range of services for students including, a Supermarket, a pub, a nightclub, coffee and food outlets.

About the Role

Service Delivery

  • Control cleaning stock and ensure appropriate amounts are ordered.
  • Ensure all COSHH and safety data sheets are followed.
  • Ensure all risk assessments are followed.
  • Completion of all due diligence paperwork relating to the role on a shift by shift basis.

Reporting and Information Management

  • All building defects should be reported to the Manager on shift.
  • Ensure the cleaning clockwork dairy is completed throughout the shift.
  • Ensure you sign in and out the building.
  • Follow all fire safety training.

Team Working

  • You will work alongside other members of the Night club cleaning team to prioritise and organise tasks throughout the shift.
  • You will also need to communicate and collaborate with other HUSU teams including Bars, Entertainments and Security.

General duties and responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager and Duty Managers.

To clean all designated areas – Areas will include but not limited to the following:

Toilet spaces while in operation these duties will include:

  • Cleaning bodily fluids which may include vomit, faeces, and blood.
  • Urinals.
  • Male and female toilets.
  • Replenishing consumables.
  • Spillages.

Night club spaces including:

  • Cleaning drink spillages.
  • Cleaning bodily fluids which may include vomit, faeces, and blood.
  • Picking up litter and discarded drinks vessels.
  • Wiping tables and resetting chairs.

Beer garden including:

  • Picking up litter and discarded drinks vessels.
  • Cleaning bodily fluids which may include vomit and blood.
  • Emptying bins.

To undertake such other additional duties as may be required from time to time within the overall scope of the appointment, as directed by the Facilities Manager & Duty Manager

Compliance (e.g. following policies/procedures)

Work in a safe manner, seeking to minimise hazards to ensure the safety of other staff and customers, and reporting all safety hazards to their line manager or other senior manager.

About You

Essential

  • Good standard of education.
  • Previous cleaning experience in a busy environment.
  • Experience in a busy customer care environment.
  • Confident in busy areas.
  • To work unsociable hours to suit the business needs.
  • Familiarity with chemical storage and use.
  • Competent in the effective use of cleaning equipment.

Desirable

  • Relevant NVQ qualifications.
  • Working within a pub or nightclub cleaning.
  • Demonstrate cleaning good standards in a commercial setting.
