Bar Team Leader - Permanent 20 hour

We have an exciting opportunity to work as part of the Commercial Team at Hull University Students' Union (HUSU) working as a Bar Team Leader for Wetherspoon at Sanctuary and Asylum.
The position is part-time, and shifts will be on a rota basis. Shifts will be across our opening times which include early starts, late finishes and weekends, so it is important that you are flexible in your availability.

Hull University Students’ Union is a Charity, with a large Commercial subsidiary; our primary purposes are:
- Advancement of education, promoting the interests and welfare of students during study and representing, supporting and advising students.
- Being the recognised representative channel between students and the University of Hull and other representative bodies.
- Providing social, cultural sporting, recreational activities, and forums for discussions and debate for the personal development of its students.
Our Commercial Subsidiary provides a range of services for students including, a Supermarket, a pub, a nightclub, coffee and food outlets.

About the Role
The Bar Team Leader role is essential in ensuring our customers receive a first-class service and it will give you the chance to use your excellent customer service skills along with your proven ability to motivate and support others. The key responsibilities are:
- Deliver excellent customer service at all times.
- Supervise and organise a small team of bar associates in line with all HUSU bars & JD Wetherspoon processes.
- Serve and present beverages, quickly and efficiently, meeting our standards
- Assist in keeping the bar, front-of-house and toilets clean and tidy, at all times
- Keep up to date with current promotions and new products
- Make customers aware of offers on our great food and drink range
- Speak to customers to ensure that they are satisfied with their meals
- Deal with customer complaints in a professional manner
- Deal with deliveries and report any loss or damages to the duty manager
- Assist in keeping wastage to a minimum by the correct pouring and measurement of products
- Maintain personal knowledge by completing online and in-house training
- Always adhere to all company policies and procedures and licensing laws
- Be involved and contribute at team meetings
- Carry out instructions given by the management team and head office

About You
Essential
- 5 GCSE level/equivalent grade C and above including English and Maths
- have proof of right to work in the UK
- have a UK bank account in your own name
- be able to converse in English
- have a fixed place of residence and live within a reasonable travelling distance of the pub
Experience
- Experience working within a fast-paced bar environment
- Experience supervising and leading a small team
