Hull University Students’ Union is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Intern who will play an active part in a fast‑paced, creative marketing team, contributing to summer campaigns, Freshers Hull activity and hands‑on social media content creation. This role is perfect for someone eager to build real‑world marketing experience, support major student‑focused events and help shape HUSU’s brand through insight, reporting and campaign delivery.

Job Specification:

The Marketing Intern will act as a key part of the marketing team, assisting with market research, summer campaigns and supporting the Freshers Hull campaign.

The post holder will assist with social media planning, scheduling and content creation for campaigns assigned by the Marketing and Commercial Manager, as well as assisting with the Freshers Hull preparations and administrative tasks, including the planning and activation of the Freshers Fair.

The Marketing Intern will also support HUSU’s marketing strategy by collating metrics and compiling reports on performance and progress for the Marketing Manager.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assisting Marketing Coordinators with social media scheduling for ongoing campaigns, creating engaging content while maintaining HUSU’s tone of voice and brand guidelines.
  • Assisting the Marketing team with preparations for Freshers Hull, including administrative tasks required for the Freshers Fair.
  • Supporting HUSU’s marketing strategy by reviewing metrics and compiling reports on performance and progress for the Marketing Manager.
  • Supporting the marketing team in daily administrative tasks.
  • Proactively monitoring brand conversations within student and community audiences.
  • Assisting with market research such as online focus groups, survey response analysis and more.
  • Occasionally you may be asked to work flexibly outside of your working hours

Skills Knowledge and Experience

● Good working knowledge of social media platforms, including brand specific features and functionality for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and more.

● Experience of creative marketing campaign planning. University assignments included.

● Ability to write and create content for a number of different audiences within the student community and beyond.

● Strong verbal and written skills.

● Experience in report writing.

● Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

● Proficiency with MS Office

● Experience with social media scheduling and analysis tools.

Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite or Canva is desirable but not essential.
